Contract Buyer

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Logistics,
the 6-month Contract Buyer's job responsibilities are as below..
- Responsible for the planning and.purchasing of critical process supplies
- Order materials in time to prevent stock outs
- Maintain the minimum inventory levels consistent with continuous production operations
- Identify unusual trends and take necessary steps
- Expedite deliveries and conduct follow-up with suppliers and internal staff
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to ensure acceptable level of products at reduced costs
- Follow through on quality expectations when required
- Support in raising of claims and material specifications
- Assess potential new sources and materials as needed
Requirements:
- Diploma in Purchasing & Materials Management preferable / or equivalent
- Knowledge of inventory control methods, techniques and practices, and the SAP
- Possess a minmum of 2 years of purchasing experience
- Able to communicate and deal with people of all levels
