The Product Line (PL) Audio Amplifiers as part of BL Connected Entertainment has a leading position as provider of CLASS-AB and CLASS-D amplifiers for the consumer industry, delivering audio power amplifier products to the key electronics manufacturers in fast growing markets such as DVD, mini_micro, (flat) TV, active speakers, MP3 docking stations, mobile phones. The portfolio consists of audio power amplifiers (class-D and class-AB) and data converters, with strong focus on class-D audio amplifiers. Besides our extended class-D portfolio in high-voltage SOI analog design, a clear focus area is digital input low-power class-D developments.

We are looking for a Principal Analog IC Designer with experience in mixed signal one chip development to join the team.


Principal Analog IC Design Engineer (Job ID. 3802)

Responsibilities:

You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team in Nijmegen, developing new audio amplifier products which can either be purely analog or have a limited amount of digital content (digital interface, DAC, digital PWM modulator, small DSP). Your contribution stretches from system to circuit level implementation, covering the complete chain from (technical) project definition to IC validation and release for volume production. Based on your capability to think on system-level as well as on detailed circuit level you are able to translate system-level designs to circuit implementation and are able to coach other design engineers on this aspect. You will be involved in specification, design and simulation, synthesis, verification, documentation, evaluation and validation. All these activities take place on block level as well as top-level design. The balance in will be towards analog for this position but a proven affinity with digital design is a pre-requisite.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering : PhD / MSc.
  • More than 6 years relevant experience as (principal) design engineer in analog IC design (CMOS processes & preferably also in SOI processes)
  • Proven experience in both concept/system level design as well as circuit level design
  • Recognized as technical expert in analog design (both inside and outside NXP) with ability in structural problem solving
  • Good understanding of device physics
  • Enthusiastic team player showing initiatives
  • Track record related to invention disclosures, conference papers, etc.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to technically drive/lead other design engineers within development projects, inside (and outside) of PL Audio Amplifiers
  • Experience with audio (amplifier) products is a pre-requisite
  • Fluent in English, Dutch will be advantageous.
